WE LOVE ... JAMES HEELEY

Traines as a barrister, Englishman James Heeley swapped his legal robes for a lab coatand uprooted to Paris to become a professional parfumer. his line includes Cuir Pleine Fleur, a leathery scent with birch and Atlas Cedar base notes and Sel Marin, a scent inspired by the sun, ocean and warm sand. We are addicted!

RE-DUCE, RE-THINK, RE-CRAFT

Crafts Collection is marketed by Danish Crafts – an independent institution under the Danish Ministry of Culture. Danish Crafts creates the framework for the overall marketing whereas the individual designer-maker takes care of the entire process from production to invoicing and the final delivery. We love the Elephant and Dog figures, made of road barrier bars. The bars all have the same measurement with a width of 7.5 cm, and all the shapes are based on this format. These wooden toys are inspired by old-fashioned toys which were mostly made of wood, and which left more to the user’s imagination than modern-day toys. Victoria’s great grandfather made his own toys, and this is something that is often on her mind as she creates new toys. The red and white objects are based on the same template but have different colour patterns.

CHICKS

I found the The Yolk Folk Printable Kit. Each chick takes 5-10 minutes to make. You can get them here.

RUDE HEALTH

The rest of the family always makes fun of me because I'm always reading the backside of cereal-packagings while eating my muesli. I have to admit that it's not that interesting, it's just a habit that I kept from when I was a teen in Portland because there were comics on the back. In europe there are only health-instructions and boring nutrition infos but I keep on starring anyway. This weekend somebody of the family got me an organic muesli from Rude Health , and I have to say it's the best mueslipackaging I've ever seen! The texts on the backside are awesome! ... and the muesli is great, too! Eat it!

WE LOVE GAME OF TRUST BY YIANNIS GHIKAS

The coat hanger Game of Trust by Yiannis Ghikas consists of three identical Y-shaped elements. Each one supports and at the same time is supported by one of the others, resulting in an embrace that transforms the units into a unity. The Game of Trust demands accuracy of construction, excellent quality of materials and the right people that can deal with both. The idea is to be made of solid wood, to be modular, easy to assemble and disassemble, easy to pack, to fit in a small package and easy to carry.

BOLEFLOOR. NOT A STRAIGHT LINE !

It wasn't nature that created straight floorboards: it was the limitations of technology.
Bolefloor is the world's first industrial-scale manufactured hardwood flooring with naturally curved lengths that follow a tree's natural growth.

And the good news for our natural resource is, Bolefloor's optimization technology allows more floors per forest.

Check out their curved floorboards here.
